Hello all

XLink Kai is a free program to play your consoles on network without going through the usual live networks (type xbox live or psn). To operate, the game must be compatible "multi-console" (many games are already compatible, like the series of Call of Duty, Resident Evil 5, Left 4 dead 2, halo reach, and so on ). The advantage of this method is obviously free, but also the opportunity to play if your console is banned, or if you have an xbox Jtag.

Info: xbox 360, microsoft has added protection. Any party having created a 30ms ping is higher will be blocked (the game does not start). The jtag blew this limitation, if you have a classic console, locate the parties hosted by a player who has less than 30ms ping.
If you own an Xbox classic, and you have a very good speed internet, you will be below 30ms.

Required:
_ A computer
_ An ethernet cable
_ A modem with multiple ethernet taken (or switch)
_ A console (Xbox1, xbox360, ps2, ps3, gamecube, wii, psp)
_ A multi-console compatible game (and update)

Method:

1_ Create an account on the site of xlink

2_ download Xlink Kai , and install it.

3_ From the Start menu, run "start kai," you should see a small notice at the bottom of your screen informing you that everything is ok.

If you use Windows 7: First, right click on the icon "starKai" started from the menu, enter the properties, open the Compatibility tab and check the option "run this program mode compatibility for windows xp sp2 / 3 ". Finally you must run the software "as Administrator" again by right clicking the icon.

4_ Open the configuration page: right click on the icon of xlink which is in the taskbar, then select "configuration"

5_ Complete the following page, put the login and password that you created on the site of xlink in the "username"? Click "save" to save your settings.

6_ To account for the settings, exit and restart Xlink Kai.

7_ We will ensure that your console is detected by the system.
-On your xbox, run part of a multi-console (I conducted my test with Halo Reach)
-On your PC, go to the Start menu, then select "start kai" (even if this has already started, to display the "game room")
-Once in the game room, click the "Metrics", and find that your console is detected, you will also notice a line stating "Recheable: yes".

8_ How do I know which game to play, and where there are people

In the xlink window, click the "game room" and then select your console, game type, then the title you want to play. In the right part of the software, you will see xlink users who want to play the same game as you. If you are not alone in the chat, you can run the game on your console and make a search party.

For info, some games are not compatible. For example, to play a COD Black Ops, players must have the same version of the game, either EN or USD.
In addition, all players must have the same update of the game (see tutorial xbox jtag (step / normal xbox ).

9_ Join / create a game using the computer.
Jtag for xbox, skip this step and go to "10". This paragraph therefore applies to all other consoles.

This step consists of 3 points, 9A, 9B and 9C:

9.A Join the "room"
_A Using the left column, select your console, game type, then Thurs All your friends have to go in this same room, for this example we will create a part in Dirt 2.

9.B "Hoster" a party
_Once You and your friends in the same "room", we can see on the console, and run the game Dirt2. (Under FSD, especially not connect tab Xlink). As the game starts, you can continue to chat, to agree on the type of race eg. At that moment, a player must be the "HOST", ie the one hosting the game. In the example Dirt2, a player goes into "multiconsoles links" and then "create a game."

9.C Joining a game

10_ Appendix: Set parameter on XLink Kai Freestyle Dash 2.0 (xbox 360 jtag only).
This allow the functions of your PC xlink xbox, so there is no need to run the PC to the box and vice versa between each part.

Set xlink this way:

Method:

_Démarrez Your box, and run FSD.

_ Xlink Run on your PC

_ Then, go to the tab Xlink Kai, and click "sign in"

_ Select "login using [...]" and "remember me". See also the phrase "system attached to xlink engine ..." indicating that the connection between your Xbox and the PC is OK. You can now press the "connect" button.

_ Following this, a series of icons appeared. You are returned to the set of functions xlink "pc" directly to your xbox.

_ At the same time your computer needs to see that you connect the xbox has xlink:

We will focus on a single tab: "Play online". The other tabs are unnecessary or not encoded by the FSD team. FYI, the tab "Arena Mode" only serves to chat. So Let's click on "Play online":

_ Once the game is validated, it is directly in the section redigiré Xlink of Dirt2 via FSD!

_ It remains for us to create a room for players to connect to them to be together as a LAN. It will then choose a HOST who will create the game, but this step happens under Dirt2.

PRECISION! HOST of the room is not necessarily the HOST of the party in the game! These are two different things.

It therefore creates a Room by clicking on Y. Set the parameters as indicated. Small clarification: I think it's a bug of not being able to create Room "private". You should therefore MUST check "private arena." In pass / description, put whatever you want if you would like to pass and nothing if you do not want:

_ That's it! Our Room was created! the option "Launch game" now exists (Y button):

_The Creator of the room can then launch the game, and go create some Multiplayer. In the example Dirt2, go to "links multiconsoles", then "create a game" (see step 9B). It just has to wait for other players.

_This Now up to other players to stand with FSD in the same room, then "Launch game".
This is not because the creator of Room has already launched its Dirt2 the room disappears, since it is managed by the engine. Even if the HOST of the room is under Dirt2 waiting players, others will see the room in FSD, and may join, then start the game

We will therefore continue as a player that wants to join the room previously created by his friend.
After opening the icon in Dirt 2 "play online", the room created is immediately apparent. Just get into it with the correct password if the HOST has put a. In this screen, do not do "Y" to host game, otherwise you will create a new Room, independent of that created by your friend . Enter in with A (not shown):

_Voilà, You are in the same room as your friend. You're logged! Now you can do to start Dirt2 Y (Y button):

Under Dirt2, the player wanting to join select "join quick game" and if a part is created by someone in the same room on xlink, it will show up automatically in the game (see step 9C).
